Today is ogrefest at the the brew kettle! for anyone who appreciates world class beer and making it yourself - this is right up your alley! got a 1:30 brew time but we get down there an hour early for lunch - their food is top notch! today I'll be brewing a recipe called dead poets imperial ipa. tons of hops, lots of flavor and 8% alc. yes we bring a designated driver ;) I'm sure there's breweries like this all over, but this one has a special place in my heart.
no affl. other than I love this place :)

    nice stuff!
I love going to micro places around by me here in good ol' WI. We have a few places that make some great beers, however no IPA's that I truely love so I wonder how this one would be.
Places to go for me well
    Stevens Point-Point Brewery
    Wausau-Red Eye
    New Glarius
    Lienenkugel
and some other various ones but those are fun.
Never done my own brew though, that would be fun.

I don't know where in WI you are, but over here on your western border we have a quite a few fine micro's. An especially fine brewery is Surly, they make a world class IPA, Furious. I know they distribute as far east as Chicago. All their beers come in four packs of 16oz cans (except their limited seasonals, which come in 750ml bottles) to help keep the beer fresh as they are unfiltered and unpasturized. Don't let the fact they come in cans throw you off, they are true world class beers. They have free weekly tours that include free beer, but the tours fill up within minute of being opened to the public. Their February tours filled up 20 minutes after being opened.
My favorite IPA is Bell's HopSlam, but Furious is my staple beer.
