Question about receiver room calibration with Polk speakers
My system is Monitor 40 fronts, CS1 center and M10 rears. Got a new Yamaha V765 receiver and ran the YPAO room calibration today. It set the fronts and center to large and the crossover at 80 hz (which is the default value.) Prior to running setup it said set the sub crossover to max (about 120 hz for my BIC H100).
I have read multiple posts on AVS Forum saying all speakers should be set to small unless they have really great low end response so I think I should set the fronts/center back to small.
The Yamaha manual doesn't say anything about what to do with the sub crossover control after setup is run. Since it sets the receiver LPF at 80 hz, can I assume leaving the sub crossover at 80 hz is ok since not much above that will reach the sub anyway?

You will want to set all of the speakers to small and set the crossover at 80 to start with. the 40's that you have would be fine at 80hz but you could set it higher if you wanted to. i would not set the front and center to large at all with those speakers.Front - RTiA5's
Rear - RTiA3's
Center - CSiA4
Sub - PSW110
