PSW10 Connection to ROTEL Amp help....

Hi, I am wondering if someone could help me figure out if the connections I have to my new sub (PSW10) are in fact correct. I have a smalle set up of bookshelf speakers, a record player, and a cd player. I am running a ROTEL Integrated Amp (RA-840BX2) which is driving 2X Heybrook HB-150s. I have added the new sub (PSW10) for some low end sound but am unsure of the connection, which is not shown in the sub literature. What I have connected now is from the ROTEL Amp speaker outputs (left/right) (using 12 gauge speaker wire) to the sub speaker inputs (left/right) It seems to be working and also seems like my only option considering the use of the integrated and not a reciever. Does anyone know if this is correct/ok? What are my options if this is not the prefferred method? Do I need a pre-amp?
Could someone help me with this....thankyou
Thanks for your time
Braeman

It looks as though that is your only option unless you want to use your headphone jack as a preamp out.

Connect your speakers to the direct out terminals. Buy a 1/4 inch stereo plug to stereo female RCA adapter. Plug the adapter into your headphone jack then use a stereo subwoofer interconnect between that and the RCA inputs on the sub. I did this back in the '80s. Works great as long as you don't need to use your headphones. I was able to fold the adapter under the chassis to hide the wire so it wouldn't look too obtrusive.

Not the best work around but a work around none-the-less.
