Graduating up from Monitor 50s and Monitor 30s to LSI after a long long wait and think and watch. Hope I don't regret this !

Ordered a pair of Lsi 15s and need help from the experts here to setup right.

I have a HK AVR435 which I want to keep.

1. Is is safe to connect Lsi 15s to this receiver before I get an amp?
2. I plan to stay with a 2 channel system as my main use is music. My budget is around $400. What would be a good amp to look out for new or used?
3. What if my budget was around $600, what would you recommend for an amp?
4. What do I need to know about settings to be made on the receiver, placement or otherwise to get the best out of my system.

Thanks in advance !

    used adcom would be your best bet in that price range. Im sure others will chime in in do time also use the search function this topic it has been discussed quite a bit Im sure you will find some helpful info that way too.

    As far as using the HK for the time being I guess you could but leave the volume knob alone you could so some damage. Good luck on your search and enjoy the new speakers

    used parasound would probably fit too... actually if you can stretch your budget a little on the amp.. Audioadvisor has a parasound 2125 for $575 brand new.
    which is 200wpc into 4ohms... not the most powerful but it would work.
    Main 2ch -
    BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+
    TT - Pro-ject Classic SB with Sumiko Bluepoint.

    TV 3.1 system -
    Denon 3500 -> Dynaudio Excite 32/22

    You can also use an Acurus DIA-100 amp... Used about $400. Very powerful and can handle 4-ohm loads.

    Adcom, Parasound, and B&K will work well. Your HK will be OK, but as soon as you start hearing distortion turn it down. If you add your addy to your sig you can get more help.

    Here are some that I find recommended on other threads in this forum.
    Rotel 1080
    Adcom GFA-5503
    Adcom GFA-555
    Emotive XPA-2 / XPA-3 / XPA-5

    How does one compare these?

    Thanks for the feedback this far.

    You won't regret buying the LSi-15's! If you want to play it safe at this point get the Emo 2 channel amp. You'll have a warranty and a solid entry level amp. You can move up from there later.

    You are fine as long as you are really carefull with your volume knob,
    till you get a amp to power them, you will see difference of day and night.

    add a Carver TFM-35 or TFM-45 to that list. There is a TFM-55 that would be awesome on the Audiogon site for 400 bucks

    A lot of the amps suggested will work great with the 15's. Adcom, Rotel, Parasound, B&K, etc. The most bang for your buck would be the Adcom 555. It's rated at 325w into 4 ohms.

    Thanks all. I'm looking at an Adcom 555 used. Also tempted to get the Emotiva XPA-2 or XPA-3 (less expensive) new. Recommendations? Which one would you go for?

    Ben - "Addy to my sig?" Am new to the forum. Pls explain.
