dts ?

I am trying to watch a movie in dts5.1 but there is no sound. The movie is in dts, the dvd player is dts, and the receiver is a yam htr5760 with dts. Is there something i should be doing to get this to work? The movie plays fine in regular dolby 5.1.

    I don't know, but sometimes you've gotta select DTS in the "audio options" at the title menu....otherwise Dolby 5.1 is usually the default. You might want to check that.

    it was pearl harbor. i selected dts in the menu, and on the receiver but no sound. i watched it surround 2x and it was good. all 7 channels were driven, i was just wondering what could be wrong.

    No sound with DTS: Check player settings and make sure DTS is actually enabled in the setup. (Stop the disc, then go into the DVD player's setup menu, verify DTS is enabled.)

    how do you have your DVD player hooked up to your receiver? Please list the type cable(s) used.

    i did select dts on the menu. also i have the hdmi cable going to the tv, and the optical cable going to the receiver.

    I guess the easiest would be to rule out the DVD. (make sure its not a "copy" but the real deal). Try another DTS movie.
