The Corei7

This new laptop with the Corei7 is hands down the most impressive processor I have ever used.
I have used Dual Cores, single Cores, whatever Cores - Been working with computers since I was a weee child and I can honestly say this is the first time I have sat down behind a computer and it was as fast as I thought it would be...
I can not run enough tasks to make this thing even stutter. I am not exactly the most demanding user by any means - but in the old days running a freakin virus scanner or defragging a drive was a big deal... this thing can run 4 of them while doing 45 other tasks...
Seriously this is the best thing I have ever used - I dont know if it is the combination of the ram and video card or whatever, dont know - dont care.
This new series of processors out are awesome. The i7 is badass.

The i7 is a very good chip. I've been running the 920 in my gaming rig for a while now, and it's crazy fast.

OS makes a difference too. I assume you upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista.
Windows 7 is more streamlined and less resource hogging than Vista.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

I was going to recommend some stress testing if you want to see how well it does. I use Blender/Prime 95 also.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

blah blah blah blah
I absolutely hate my old laptop - it is taking me forever to transfer my files...
Once these files are transfered I am going to flush my laptop in the toilet -- throw it up in the air a thousand times... take a hammer to it.... run it over... baseball bat... drill... flames... bury it.... dig it up... mail it back to ACER with a note that says build better ****...
And then post it on youtube...
Because this has been the worst computer I have ever owned. The computer it replaced a Pentium 3 866mhz with like 512mb of ram is still running in a church I sold it to to this day working like a champ and this thing can barely boot up in less than 10 minutes....

His is a laptop so I doubt he's doing any overclocking but torture testing wouldn't hurt. I usually start with a short prime session after each oc step, then do a variety of benchmarks. Go all the way up until you see first failures on prime and then go back a little and start torture testing. -
The core i5 750 is no slouch either....Testing

The i5 is nice in a laptop or in most desktops, but for hard core performance you want the better chipset the 920 is built on.

Man my laptop is stuck with a measily P9400.
Albeit with 8 gigs o' ram, 4gig flash cache and a 1gig Quadro 3700
If only I had the i7 with it, it'd be killer.Main Surround -

Yes, will agree with you there, about the hard core performance, but most people aren't really interested in that. They look at the price first, oh look, a $399 computer and they order it up before they even know what their getting...
I have such a hard time trying to convince people to spend a little more on these computers...it will make their life so much easier...thats why the i5 is a good compromise...Testing
