Another Timber Matching Question for CSi30
I'm in the middle of upgrading my media room speakers. The RM6600 system I purchased 7 years ago is going to get relinquished to a backup movie room (the family room).
In the media roon, I've got a Center Chanel CSi30 that I would like to use and I'm trying to match some decent (moderately priced) fronts to go with it (I'm ok with buying used as well).
-I first took a look a the new TSi100's from polk.
-I then took a look at the RTi4's. I believe these are a bit older model, but can still be purchased new at a good discount.
-And lastly I saw the Monitor 40 speakers. Again, I believe these are a bit older, but can still be purchased at a good discount.
If I'm reading the specs correctly, othe the three choices it's TSi100=good, RTi4=better, Monitor 40=best....of the three comparos.
Two questions,
1) Do I have these rated correctly for good, better, best? and
2) I'm no expert on timber matching, but all three of these speakers looked to have very similar drivers, and tweeters as the CSi30 Center channel. Am I correct that any one of these will timber match my center?
Also, is there a chart somewhere on this site or the web the maps all the timber matching speakers? I did a search but came up dry.
Thanks

Couldn't help myself and took the plunge. The deal on the Monitor40's from Newegg was too good to pass up. I've got the upgrade bug bad, just wish I had the funds to support it .

After doing a bit more research, I now realize that the RTi4 would be a step up from the Monitor 40's, but even with hind site, I'm still happy with my decision. I was pretty happy with my old 6600 setup, so the new set up should be at least a couple of steps above no matter how I cut it.

While I agree that the RTi4's would have been a "step up" those Monitor 40's are no slouch either. I have them as surrounds and they are awesome. You will be pleased by their performance, esp. for what you paid for them. Welcome to Club Polk.

Ran a pair of 40's for fronts for a couple of months, was so impressed I moved on to the same layout in the LSI series. I think they are one of the best bargains that can be had. Don't be afraid to push them with a little "clean" power, they like it. Congratulations on your purchase!
Forgot to mention, give them some break-in time, they smooth out as you go along.Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,
