Any Negative Issues With Emotiva Customer Service?

Greetings from Gulf War Vet,
Yes, today I joined the Polk Audio Forum and this is my very first post. In further, I have previously found the posts on this site very helpful while insightful; whereas, I have never found it necessary to post until now.
Actually, I consider my first GREAT pair of speakers as a pair of Polk LS-90s of which I powered with all Adcom electronics including a pair of GFA-565
Mono-block amplifiers. Well, when I first heard the combo together it was like Wow!
Moving on to the issue, I'm unfortunately having a customer service issue with Emotiva Audio Corporation relating specifically to their customer service and following their own company policy.
Well, it's absolutely not my style to air out dirty laundry so I'd like to provide Emotiva Audio Corporation ample opportunity in a timely manner to address my concern first of which I sent them an e-mail today and I await their response.
At this time to potentially evaluate the existence of any trends, I'd like to know if anyone has had any "negative" issues with Emotiva Audio Corporation customer service?
Thanks in advance for the feedback- much appreciated.

The best place for this discussion would be with Emo directly... Actually jinjuku, fishing is my favorite hobby over audio, bass fishing that is.
I run a Bullet 21XD with 225 HP and biggest bass is 8 pounds 3 ounces caught on the Tar River in North Carolina.

Usually stories start with at least one side of the story. What you have posted is so nebulous as to merit a very critical look by even the most casual and disinterested of viewers.
What is your issue actual... -

Second, you have a problem with a company, you say it's not your style to air dirty laundry, and then you do it anyhow? Like you said, give them ample opportunity. If they screw you royally, by all means, tell the world... Just be reasonable about it.
Third, I fail to see the why you felt it was "necessary" to post... no need to post your details just yet. If I were you, I'd keep mum until this issue was resolved or remained unresolved for an unacceptably long period. -
umm no I haven't had any trouble when I owned Emo stuff. That being said I found they were ususally very helpful and were quick to answer any question I had, even if I didn't care for their product, they were still good people to deal with. Sarah is very nice on emails, and calling I've talked to a few people that were nice and helpful.
So ummm....
no...but you would need to be a little more specific and also would be more helpful to yourself to post something over there at their site, or forum as they will address it there. So not really sure why it was posted here. Good luck. -
ordered a amp from them 2day....spoke w/sarah.
polite,friendly had no issues.

Thank You for the welcome. Well, all is good on the home front now. I have recently corresponded with Emotiiva and their customer service was absolutely awesome!
Just a simple misunderstanding that can happen. It's all good!

So in the span of 1 hour and 15 minutes:
You went from what appears to be a 100% fishing expedition, with 0% details to a 100% misunderstanding with Emotiva.
Speaking of fishing, if it smells, looks, swims like, then it's a fish:rolleyes: -
Welcome to Club Polk Gulf War Vet! Glad to see everything worked out.

Actually the Polk LS-90s served me very well but I gave them to my brother-in-law who had family obligations and he is as happy as can be with them.
I purchased the Polks and my current Adcom electronics at the base exchange at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. After the 4-year tour, Uncle Sam shipped the equipment home.
I owned the Polks for a few years and then purchased a set of Newform Research R645 ribbons factory direct and I've had them for over a decade. I still like them for they are very transparent and the wife still gives them 2 thumbs up too! They are 76" tall and I've developed a liking for tall speakers.
Now, I'm currently looking forward to trying the old speakers out with emo electronics.
I'm currently using an Adcom GFA-5800 mosfet amp but the power switch is broke and stays on continuous. I have it hooked up through an ACE 515 enhancer so it powers up just fine.
BTW, I have a Polk CS 350 center channel like brand new w/box if you know anybody interested. I went back to 2-channel and haven't used it in many many years.

Well...Shack has called Emotiva Customer Service numerous times, just to let them know that he wouldn't be ordering any of their products.
They wouldn't even give him the time of day. That, to me, is terrible customer service. When someone calls and has absolutely no interest in purchasing your products, you need to go above and beyond to make sure you can accommodate them. This is simply a disgusting business habit.
And, I'm pretty sure Ricardo is still getting the run around from Emotiva. I think they're just intentionally sending him bad units now.:pThe nirvana inducer-

Welcome Gulf War Vet and thanks for posting your experience. Thanks again for another welcome!
Emotivia to some degree reminds me of Adcom of the 1990's. They definitely have lowered the price of admission for someone to get into separate components which can spur the competition.
Back in September 2008, it was announced that Adcom was coming out with with a new "ZVT" series of amps- Zero Voltage Transition. Well, since I was looking forward to see these, I later contacted Adcom and it appears that the series never came to fruition:
http://www.cedailynews.com/2008/09/adcoms-09-audio.html
Well, right now, Adcom is having a President's Day sale for 4 days to purchase electronics factory direct:
http://www.adcom.com/default.aspx
At the same time, I wonder if this is any marketing trend indication of which is the ability to purchase Adcom through K-Mart on-line?

Hope all the links work.

The big difference is the Adcom's actually sounded very good vs. the competition. The Emo doesn;t follow suit, IMO.
Adcom hasn;t been the company they were in the 80's and 90's and are really not even in the game anymore. I would like to get my ears on the resurrected GFA555 SE just to see if they screwed it up or not.
The "gold" series is still the Adcom to own. GFP-750; GFA-5802; GCD-750.
YMMV

I agree, Adcom appears to me as a shadow of its former self in comparison to the 1990s.
Right now it looks like a bunch of weenies are running the company.
Right now, I have some aging Adcom gear and recently, the left channel on my GFP-565 preamp went out. I then hooked up a GTP-600 old dolby pro logic preamp to support 2 channel audio.
I have a set of Adcom GFA-565 mono block amps but both are inoperative. As said, my GFA-5800 mosfet amp still works even with the inop power switch that stays on continuously. Now, I do possess a GFA-555II amp but my wife even prefers the 5800 over the 555II.
From Emotiva, I should have a USP-1 Preamp, an ERC-1 CD player, and two XPA-1 mono amps to audition with my Newform Research R645 dipole ribbons hopefully soon.
I intend to install them one by one accordingly and take my time. I'll let all know what I think. -
heard the xpa-1 are beasts,i hav a xpa-2 on its way.The adcom monoblocks are awesome,my uncle had a pr years ago....definitely loads of power.

I thought about having the GFA-565 mono amps repaired. There is a repairman on-line who I believe could fix these amps in his sleep. The last time I checked, the repair was $190.00 each and he gives a short warranty period. The price does not include shipping both ways. I guess it would cost when all done around $625.00 to return them to fully operational and I do have the original boxes.
http://www.ebcelectronics.com/
The GFA-565s are rated down to 2 ohms as 850w into 2. They have ten sets of bipolar transistors and a 1.2 KVA toroidal. At the time, Adcom wasn't big on protection circuitry besides fuses so when you turn them on, you do get a slight thump in the speakers. I've witnessed their current wise capability whereas I saw a sales guy hooking up to a set of speakers with the amps on and I saw sparks!
If the Emotiva XPA-1s work for me, I'll most likely sell the 565 mono amps at a good price so someone else can repair themselves or send off to repair so they have a short warranty period. I'd even ship to the repairman for the buyer with tracking to save on shipping.
http://www.ebcelectronics.com/
It's basically amounts to a decision based upon the sound quality of the Emotiva XPA-1 mono blocks' sound versus the sound I'm currently accustomed to. I hope it is a sound decision...LOL-pun intended
