New Polk Member and HT Setup

Just recently have went on a spending spree and have finished all my purchases...for now..haha. My recent buys: Samsung 55 in. LED with 240 Hz (UN55B8000), 120 GB PS3, Pioneer VSX 1019ah-K, monitor 70s for fronts, monitor 40s for backs, cs2 center, and psw505 for sub. I also bought banana plugs and 12 gauge wire to hook everything up. What would be the best way to hook everything up as well as the best setting to turn the crossover on the amp on for the sub? Should I bi-wire or just wire the 70s using the front outputs and do the wire connectors to the lower terminals? Also, does speaker wire length mean anything now with auto calibration? I know back in the day all lines should be the same length yada yada yada...I had planned on cutting the 70s for about 10-15' the center for about 5-10 ft, and the backs around 25-30 ft, or could just cut all the lines aroud 20 ft...any difference?? Ill be running a sub line from the amp to the LFE on the sub. Any help would be great and thanks!

Bi-amping/bi-wiring won't give you much on the 70s. Just replace the factory jumpers with some decent speaker wire and go that way.
As far as run distance, most people will say it doesn't make a difference, but I like to keep my runs the same length for each set of channels. This is mostly a personal preference.
Crossover frequecy should probably be set to 80 Hz for HT, and set all speakers to small so the AVR sends everything below that to the sub.
As far as the best way to hook it all up, just try to keep all tweeters near ear level. Beyond that, you kind of have to play with it to see what works best with your set up in your room. You can also read some of the articles at http://www.polkaudio.com/education/index.php to help you get started.

Post #2 pretty much sums it all up, congrats on the new toys and let us know how it all sounds when you get it up and running. I have pretty much the same setup, besides the 505 and I have been very pleased by what those Monitors can do. Take some shots and put them up in the System Showcase. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.
