I have one psw 505 and am thinking about adding another. The room I have my setup in is a rectangle about 15x32. My question is, will adding another sub make a big difference or am i just wasting money.

That's a pretty good sized room, so I'd say yes, it would make a difference.

However, upgrading to a single, better sub may get even better results. Just something to keep in mind.

I would really like to upgrade to a svs but have a baby coming shortly so funds are a little low. Newegg has the psw505 at a price I can swing right now. Something tells me that after the baby comes no more toys for me for a long time.

Understandable. Congrats on the new family member!!

The price newegg has on the 505 right now is fantastic. I'm tempted to pick one up at that price...but I don't really have a use for it.

I'd say that adding a second 505 would make for a big improvement in your rig.

My receiver is a pioneer elite vsx-21txh and has only one sub out, is it going to hurt anything using a y adapter to hook both subs up

No, that is the only way you will be able to do it since you only have one sub out on your AVR. Keep in mind that setting up 2 subs can be a pain in the butt though, lol.
