Problem with SDA 2's

I have a pair of SDA 2's and a pair of SDA 2B's. I was moving speakers around to different rooms and noticed that the SDA 2B's had more bass than my SDA 2's did in the same location. They were wired to the same amp setup but the 2B's seem to have more depth. Is this normal or do my SDA 2's have a problem?

Check to see if you have a good air seal on each of the cabinets. Push in the passive and see how long it takes for the mid-bass drivers to return to original position. Make sure you push in and hold the PR while counting - you should get at least 2 full seconds of cone movement before they settle back. Do the 2's and 2B's and compare.
Also, make sure the 2's are in absolute phase. Match the speaker cable left/right with the diagram on the back of the speakers. Sometimes they can accidently get swapped.

I accomplished both tests and they were fine. Do you think it is the crossovers?

When you were swapping out the speakers for listening, did you listen with the cabinets next to each other or did you listen to one set at a time in the exact same position as the first.
Even SMALL changes in speaker placement can make a BIG difference in bass ouput. If one set was slightly closer to the corners, they will appear to make more bass.
And yes, the caps could be the culprit. Speakers that old often need some attention in the crossover department.

The are in the exact place where the 2's were. I am not listening side by side.
My wife even noticed the difference between the 2 types and she is deaf in one ear.
I really think it is the caps. Do you know anyone who rebuilds them? -
I should reword that, do you know anyone who rebuilds the crossovers?
