I sold my tv to my mother-in-law on the condition that I would replace the lamp for her when it started going out. Well, it is, and here I am.

Has anyone had experience with buying lamps for DLP's? I'm looking for a good place to get one (that comes with the housing) and has a decent warranty.

This is for my Mitsutbishi WD-65733 DLP.

I just bought a new lamp for my Samsung. I got it at Pureland Supply and am very happy. It took about three days to arrive and they offer a 90 day warranty. Most places sell the lamp with a housing and generally specify if the housing is not included.

I am guessing this would work for you but double check.

I have replaced the bulb i my DLP as well as the color wheel. It is a fairly easy process overall. I purchased mine from samsungparts.com since that is who makes my tv. The only hint i can give is to amke sure that you get the bulb with the housing and not just the bulb by it's self. They should be around $100-150.

I have the 52 in version of that tv and changing the lamp is very simple. The lamp can be purchased on ebay or through amazon. the lamp on mine is behind the front control panel and is held in place with four screws. when you remove the screws the entire lamp and carrier come out in one piece. the lamp is contained within its own housing which is also held in place with fours screws. it is very self explanatory as you remove the lamp. It can only go in one way so its pretty easy. the only other recommendation is to go to the back side of the tv and there is another cover plate which houses a simple screen which is the air filter. this should be taken out and washed out at the same time. Remember not to touch the new lamp. good luck

I had real nice results from eBay.
The project took 10 minutes start to finish.
Again, do not touch the lamp itself.
A very lightly dampened rag to collect dust in and around the housing would be in order.
    Good luck.

Really not sure if this applies to DLP buls but I know that when you change automotive bulbs they say not to touch the bulb. The oil from your hands heats up the bulb prematurly and it doesn't last as long. It wouldn't hurt to apply this to the DLP bulb. Just use a clean rag to put it in.
