S10 vs Monitor 10

I have a chance to pick up some pristine S10's. The speakers I use now are the monitor 7's and 10's with upgraded crossovers. Has anyone done a copmparison between the S10's and the older Monitor 10's? I'm addicted to Polks and wonder if the S10's are worth the effort.

Stay with the monitors. You can thank me later.

Thanks for the advice. What do the S10's bring to the table. Are they just inferior to the Monitor 10's or do they have any redeeming qualities. Reviews on Audioreview had the S10's rated high but I'm learning that our Polk forums are beteer.
    Thanks again !

Stick with the Monitor 10's. The S series was Polk's budget series of the day, and really isn't anything to write home about. They're decent sounding speakers, but your M10's will smoke them up and down.

I have to agree with ComfortablyCurt. I also have a set of pristine S10s as well as 2 sets of Monitor 10s. There is a reason why they are still pristine..They are boxed up in the closet. Not that they are terrible or anything, but a Monitor they are not.

Although, depending on the price, they might make nice sattelites. I would even be willing to buy the pieces parts if you wanted to buy them and part out. I need spares for everything...kind of an addiction. Will make sure you make a few $ profit for the trouble.

Thanks for all of the input! I think I'll just get on with the little projects of fixing up some of the gear that's been waiting patiently, like the 5jrs that need repair.
