Decent movie. Good pacing. Special effects of the transformation was good but I was thinking they could have been better considering today's technology. Graphically violent but not too bad (a bit more graphic than the Underworld series). Predictable.

Benecio and Hopkins were great. Emily Blunt, I dunno. Something was missing. Out of the 3, she was the weak one. Also, the love interest between Benecio and Blunt was rather weak. Hugo Weaving still has a bit of Agent Smith in him when he's interrogating someone which was rather amusing.

We know the story well so I didn't leave the theatre amazed nor dissapointed. Rental or take a date who jumps easily as there are lots of moments where the director tries to scare you out of your seat and it's always fun to have your date jump in your lap.

Overall, I prefer an American Werewolf in London.

IMHO that is the standard by which all werewolf movies should use.

LOL! My younger son just turned 13 on Feb. 5th. The first question out of his mouth was, "Since you've been letting me watch PG-13s all this time can I watch 'Rs' now." Man they always try to push the limit.

BTW how is the gore and the nudity?

Got some poor reviews from what I've read. I may wait until it's a rental...not sure this is a good Valentine's day movie for my wife and I since we're celebrating our anniversary. Thinking of going to see Avatar instead. I've read some interesting things about the acting job as well. Thanks for the review!

Decapitation, dismemberment, disembowlment. All scenes are quick with minimal blood. Bites are quick and similar to your vampire movies minus the jugular blood squirts. No Wolfman feasting on your body scenes nor does he walk around with a human turky leg with mustard. He's not eating, just killing. If your kids can handle Underworld, Underworld Evolution, or Rise of the Lycans, they should be okay.

Poor Benecio, no sex scenes. One partial nude scene. Emily Blunt from the waist up back shot with a glimpse of the right side of her right breast. The recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover showed more.

    Hope that helps.

No go for anniversary movie, love story is non-existent, unless she's into horror flicks. Go see Avatar in 3D (adventure), Inglorious **** (violence/humor), or Book of Eli (drama/violence) instead.

Wow... All I can say is that I was incredibly disappointed with this film. The whole thing just seems phoned in by everyone involved. I really thought Benecio would have been perfect in the role, but he just seemed disinterested and flat the entire time. What could have been an amazing character study goes absolutely nowhere. The effects are hokey and the action sequences are fairly laughable.

Save your money and watch American Werewolf in London for the umpteenth time.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I've heard that all the transformation sequences are old-school and not CGI, can anyone who's seen this confirm?

I actually kinda like that aspect, if in fact it's true.

I think it was a combination of both. Unfortunately, the CGI is really poor in my opinion. I really wanted to likethe flick - as I love the way they were attempting to pay homage to the original Cheney version. It just never really comes together.

They kept the effects old school cuz its a remake of the original wolfman and i actually prefer that over cartoonish computer effects

This movie tried really hard... but kept falling short. I didn't enjoy it, there wasn't anything new or exciting about it, and it felt like I have watched this half a dozen times before, just with new faces.

Save your money here folks. I MIGHT rent it again in a few years, but that's about it.
