I am looking at buying an amp. I have narrowed my choices to Parasound and Sunfire. Does either require a 20A line? Also I see that the Sunfire TGA5200/7200 came out for only a year before it was replaced by the TGA5201/7201. Were there issues with the 5200/7200 series?

Depending on how easy/hard it is to pull a line I say why not. I pulled an additional 12/2 and terminated to a double gang outlet. I will run both my Adcom and Behringer EP2500 off of it. The rest will go on the circuit that was already there.

You don't need to but if it is easy enough it's nice to know that you have a dedicated circuit that you can install other components on.

Like he said it is not required but I would recommend a dedicated one. I have two Sunfire 300~2 running off of a 15a and when the music is jamming the lights are dimming.

No issues at all with the 5200/7200. The reason for the change was to update the cosmetics to match the new TGP-401.

Personally, I would look for a Cinema Grand Signature 5x400 as they run about the same price as the newer TGA5200 does and you will get a better looking amp with twice the power.
