7.1 set up with Tsi 100 and Rti4 surrounds..help please
So I pulled the trigger on a pair of Rti4 and wow! Amazing sound...
The problem is that the rest of my speakers are from the Tsi series ...tsi100,cs20 and tsi300. I am very happy with them but have some questions:
(1)How should I set up a 7.1 with the speakers I have? Should I use the Tsi100 as the rear surrounds or the Rti4?
(2)Do the Rti4 and Tsi100 have the same tweeters? On the specs it appears that both are made from 1" Silk Dome Dynamic Balance tweeters' but I have no idea what that means. The specs look very similar for both in fact the rti4 is described as 'Timbre-matched to fit into any Polk Audio home theater'...is that true for the tsi100?
(3)Thanks to great advise on this forum I now know that matching surrounds is not as important as the F/R/C speakers. The problem is that I always listen to music on the multichannel setting (5.1 or 7.1) ...wouldn't it have been better to buy two more tsi100 for the rears as opposed to the Rti4 that I just purchased?
Thanks for your help,
Havlat

I would use them in the Surround Back L/R as this is the setting for them in a 7.1 configuration. While it would have been better to stay in the family with them, it's not a big deal that you looked elsewhere. IMHO, you'll be fine.

skip the 7.1 and use them as a small 2 channel. I ran 7.1 for a while and really didn't notice a huge difference compared to 5.1 but to each their own. I really enjoy my rti 4's and I'm sure that in a different application you would get the most out of those speakers. Remember everyone just my .02
