Well had my back surgery yesterday, everything went well the doc said that he removed quite a large piece of the disc so hopefully this is the last time that i have to deal with this.

I really wish that the pain pills would work a little bit better!!!! I have only slept about 2 hours since the surgery this morning and I even stayed up late the night before so that I would be more tired and sleep better but yea no luck.

Just a little bored sorry to rant a bit, not really tho;)

I know what you are going through, I had 2 surgeries. The only thing that worked for me was a combo of Oxycontin, and some type of anti-depressant in super low dose which actually helps with pain and sleep. Mind you I'd be a zombie till about 1pm the next day, but at least I could sleep. Now the hard part is still yet to come, not trying to be a superstar when you think you're all better and messed up your back again.

Sometimes the narcotics can make you sleepless even though they make you sleepy. Ask your doc to give you a sleep aid too.

Know how it is with back pain and other orthopedic problems. Get well soon.

Yep they have a tendancy to make your mind race especially the oxys.

the other meds I was taking is called amytriptaline (sp?) in low doses as mentioned, it helps with pain and helped me sleep. I also tried Lyrica, but that made me feel so weird. It did help, but I couldn't stand the way I felt on it.
