Who has one? A friend of mine got his yesterday...I fell in love instantly and bought one last night when I got home. It'll be here tomorrow.

What cool apps do you guys have? I was researching and found quite a few that I'd like

-Movies...movie times and such on a very quick platform
-Ringdroid...make ringtones including the ability to select what part of a song you want as the ring tone
-PDAnet...tethering
-Google Translate...speak into the mic, translate in any language
-Voice...google voice app
-Google maps...of course
-Bump...take two android phones, literally bump them together, and you each have the others phone number and name
-Pandora...pick a song, gives you internet radio based on the genre of the song you chose
-Google goggles...take a picture of something and search for that
-T-mobile my account...tmobile acct info
-keyring...have a kroger, blockbuster, or golds gym card? simply take a pic of it and you can scan it at those locations (or any place that has a membership card with a barcode) and simply hold your phone up to the scanner and voila!
-advance task killer...task management for androids
-sms popup...pops up text messages much like the iphone
-fly screen...allows you to add widgets to your 'locked' background
-where...gives you info, like movies and gas prices in your area
-g1 psycho... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7v8vNPkQvU

and probably the nicest app for it ive seen is wavesecure...free until march 31st
https://www.wavesecure.com/
It basically allows you to track your phone, lock it down...all kinds of things from your computer.

Post your favorite apps with what they do and if you do have a nexus one, how do you like it so far?

Still debating. I really really want one but just dropped 1K+ on TV. Would rather buy it unlocked to save money in long run with data plan etc...

It looks like non-AT&T people finally have a viable iPhone alternative with this one. I'm with AT&T so I'll be sticking with my iPhone for now, but I'll no doubt try one of these when they drop enough in price, $529 is a little steep for a phone for me.

I put my at&t sim card in my friends nexus one and it was still extremely fast. I would like to try it again next to an iphone on 3g with at&t to see how much of a difference there is.

There were a couple of reviews online where the n1 was on a slower tmobile network compared to the iphone next to it and still beat the iphone 2 out 3 times to different webpages.

I don't care so much about the nexus on tmobile vs the iphone on att, I care about the nexus on att (which is 2g) vs the iphone on att (which is 3g).

I moved from a Blackberry Curve to the iPhone, and found the 3g to make a significant difference.

I'd like to know why Google decided to not support the AT&T 3g network with this phone, as that's a deal breaker for me.

I dont understand why they didnt try and do 3g on at&t either. Tmobile might have had something to do with that...we'll probably never know.

Maybe I'll be able to find someone with a at&t iphone soon so i can put it head to head to my n1 on my at&t sim and see how it fairs.

Rumor has it that a version of the Nexus One that will run on the AT&T 3G band is making its way through the FCC...so well see how that pans out.

I think the N1 is supposed to be out on Verizon soon. When that happens I'm thinking about giving it, and Verizon, a try. I'll hang on to my AT&T line as well, but keep hearing such great things about Verizon and am tempted to give it a shot.

I did, but that was before I read that it did not support 3g on AT&T - I should have paid more attention to that when I bought it, but honestly I never even thought of that as a potential issue - my fault for not checking, but dissapointing nonetheless

If you're happy with your $30 phone, why even comment on the thread as you clearly have nothing to offer.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

As an alternative to Wave Secure you might want to check out Mobile Defence.

    Other apps to consider:
    Shazam - Song identification
Shop Savvy - Barcode scanner that automatically searches local and internet prices.
    Unit Converter - Advanced converter
Fandango - Movie times, and ticket purchasing
    Trapster - GPS speed-trap alerts
Torrent-FU - Remotely manage uTorrent on your PC
Slacker - Nice when you want an alternative to Pandora

That's all I can remember right now.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion most of the Android based phones smoke the iPhone. I personally have both an iPhone (business line) and an HTC Hero. I barely even touch the iPhone anymore, except for phone calls (BTW AT&T coverage and service blows!). The Hero does almost everything better and faster. I just didn't realize how slow and limited the iPhone was until the Hero came along.

another cool app ive found is locale. It can automatically set your ringer to vibrate depending on the time and location. Great for students who forget to turn their ringers off.

Can anyone confirm if the Nexus One is indeed coming out on Verizon March 23rd?

Up for a new phone in April and I'm with Verizon so I'm trying to figure this out now. I see the Motorola Droid has great reviews, but I'm sick and tired of the blocky, rectangular phone.

I know, aesthetics is a dumb thing to pick a phone over, but that's not what I'm doing ultimately. I like the Nexus One, but I'll be getting the Droid if Verizon won't be offering the Nexus One.

The date isn't confirmed, but it does say Spring 2010.

    Nice!

It wasn't funny and honestly, comments like that do nothing but serve to get other people all twisted up. You come off as having an air of superiority because of you believe that a $30 phone is just as good as anything. Maybe that works for you but it doesn't work for other people. You just don't have the need. I unfortunately walk around with about $1500 in wireless and cellular communication equipment at all times. Do I want to? No. With a $30 phone work ok for me? Yes. But my job necessitates the equipment. I'm not going to mock you over your choice of a $30 phone and honestly, I think you're out of line for underhanded comment.

Looks like no Verizon release date yet. But man, I love this phone. My biggest gripe is I wish it would learn words I type and no autochange them. Like tard becomes yard and haha become Bahamas...weird.

Posting from it right now...more than worth the money i paid for it.
