Resume Builders?

I'm just looking for anyone that has information on a good resume builder either online, or one that I could even order. Free would be great too. My last resume I did and was about 4 pages or so without cover letter (I think) and I want to see if thats a decent amount and get it fixed up for future job prospects.
Or if anyone knows of like online classes someone could take from a place that will focus more on it, that would be helpful too.
I did have a class in college (2008 I took it I think) that was supposed to "teach" us how to do this stuff, but well the professor never really taught anything as it was their 1st year, and would only talk about how much money they made in the real estate market in California before it got bad blah blah blah....so that was a waste of money. And all I learned was that I should get a job in sales....that was it.

4 pages for 2 years experience is too much detail. You should be able to fit all 2 years experience on 1 page. There are lots of free resume writing tips on the web. The biggies are no first person, no grammar/spelling errors, and customize the content to the job. I read the job description and tailor my experience to what's listed.

This might be a good place to start. You can get basic formats from a lot of sites.

I've used this book in the past, it will give you a good start.
However, I would suggest seeking out a friend or family member with a background in written communications and let them give you some constructive feedback.

I'd be willing to take a look at it. Generally, short and to the point would be the best. I've been in my field for 10 years, and I'm disappointed that I've now reached over 1 page on my resume.

2 pages max.....if you have 4 pages, either you have way too much information, or it's formatted in a way that would make people skip over because why look at a resume to find the important stuff through all the other mundane crapcomment comment comment comment. bitchy.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at a few things and then might ask for some opinions. I just hate that I was supposed to be taught this in college but well, never happened.

Keep it simple, uncluttered, and to the point.............have read over 500 resumes the past 3 months and anything more than 2 pages doesnt even get read............probably delete more than a 1/3 just due to being too long, and too trival....good luck in your search
