Hello,
I hope this is right forum to post my question.
My first inquiry:
Is the 5Z3 tube a replacement for the 274B tube?
if yes,
then my next question:
I have a chinese made pre-amp that is using a 274B tube.
I pulled out the chinese 274B tube and it was it had a different pin from the 5Z3 tube. The guy who sold it me said that the 5Z3 is electronically equivalent to the 274B
I am attaching a pciture of the 2 tubes. The one on the left is the 274B and the right is the 5Z3 tube, The 274B has a center guide with a notch so thta matches the socket. the 5Z3 does not have this. It has 2 large pins and 2 small pins. How do I correctly orient the insertion, if I can use the 5Z3 to tube roll.

I did run a search on 'Duncans' tube page and it does not list the "5Z3" as a substiute.

If that helps... -
I'll scrap the plan using the 5Z3
