In deciding the sub

I am planning to replace my sub-woofer, currently I have onkyo HTIB.
I found a deal which is present here CLick Here It is a BIC F12, the specs are as follows :

Specifications:

Design: Front-firing 12" 475-watt peak powered subwoofer
Frequency Response: 25Hz - 200Hz
Sensitivity: 90dB
Drivers: 12" Injection molded woofer with heavy duty surround
Magnetic Shielding: YES
Gold-Plated Terminals:YES
Recommended Power: Built-in Amplifier Power: 475 watts Dynamic Peak, 150 watts RMS continuous
Impedance: 8 ohms
Dimensions: 17"H x 14 3/4"W x 17 1/4"D

My HT is setup in the living room, it is 20 ft wide by 30 ft long and ceiling is around 11 ft high. My listening preferences are 40% Music 60% movies.

Is this a good sub for my requirement ? Should I buy this or look for a used velodyne or a polk sub ?

What should I look for a sub for my requirement.

My budget is pretty low for the sub.

Thanks in advance

Hey Mac, not familiar with that sub, but I have heard good things about BIC subs in general. You can look into a used Velodyne, or Epik, or SVS and even Polk. If you choose Polks though and you do mostly music, I would look into the DSW line, they are a very musical sub. Good luck.

By the numbers, that seems like a lot of sub for the money. Plus it has a BASH amp . . . I say go for it, if you're not satisfied, you can always sell it for nearly what you paid. Good luck . . .

partsexpress.com, i'm sportin 2 of them and love them. I'm even putting a heavier duty driver with double stitched surrounds and tweakin the rear ports on each for further enhancement. Movies come alive and the linearity is awesome with music too. I have to have full spectrum and dynamic sound and I'm very demanding on how I want my subs to perform. I have dampened them more and they seem to like that. I measured both port diameters on each and thats how far I have them sitting out from the wall (rear firing dual ports on each enclosure).

My requirements include the 3 D's

    1. Definition
    2. Dynamics
    3. Deep
