Sub connecton
Hi folks
I've noticed on a lot of pre-assembled speaker wall plates that the sub connection point is RCA to F and vice versa. Is it ok to run over a distance with coax to an LFE input without some sort of impedance or other issue.

Well, I'm no expert by any means. However, when I researched this awhile back, the consensus was that this should work just fine. I plan on running RG6 coax from the back of the wall plate over to my sub location, so about 15 feet total feet of cable. I haven't purchased the sub yet, so I can't tell you if I have issues.
I do recall there being concerns when you had very long runs (50+ feet), but that was about it.
I'm sure that theoretically there is a performance difference between this setup and an expensive subwoofer cable, but I suspect the difference is not noticeable. This does assume you have good, tight connections at all the interface points....
Hope this helps.... -
In our last house I did it for a run of about 40 feet and it worked very well.
