Not sure why I did it just seemed like a great deal, both are in great shape work fantastic. the only thing that don't work are the pop up blue LED lights (big deal IMO). They are the European models but they did come with the plug adapters.

Now I can get my DJ fix on "HAHA" J/K i want nothing to do with that crap.

Well I was looking in the local craigslist this morning and saw these for the low price of $30, yes $30 for both of them. so I called the guy and told him I would not be able to pick them up till afterwork" here is the good part" he told me if I was really coming he would take down the ad and hold them for me. not sure what I am going to do with them but for $30 it seemed like a no brainer.

Awesome deal. Go check out KABUSA for easy access to replacement parts. You can get the dust cover, hinges, headshell, replacement pop up lights, etc. there. Make sure you get a heavy rubber type mat for the platter. Don't bother with felt types. Those are for DJs scratching. A heavy mat will sound better.

You could easily sell one for $150 and use the money to buy a nice cartridge, etc.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I'll also take one if you decide to let them go! This is the main table I've been considering for my next TT upgrade.

    That's a killer deal!! Congrats!

Yes...but I think DJ 1.Tool has a slightly better ring to it. It mixes his screen name up with his 1.2TL's.;)

Nice find! I thought I found a decent deal when I picked up my single 1200MK2 for $150, so this definitely takes the cake. +1 on checking out the KAB USA website. They have everything you need to make the 1200 sing!

One mod I found that was very useful with my 1200 was the LP Gear headshell. It is machined from billet aluminum and comes complete with the upgraded gold headshell leads. It goes for $49.99. Considering it's machined billet aluminum and has the gold headshell wires, I feel this is a bargain. If you are planning to run a Denon DL-160 cart on these as I and many others do with great results, this headshell is a great match for this particuliar combo. The DL-160 cart is a little on the light side (4.8 grams) for the 1200 tonearm. The LP gear headshell is a little heavier than the stock headshells and combined with the DL-160 cart, it puts the counterweight adjustment right in the middle of the adjustment range if you are setting the tracking force at the optimum 1.5 to 1.65 grams. I may be just imagining this, but I believe I get better tracking with the DL-160/LP Gear headshell combo over the DL-160/stock headshell combo. Another must have for the tables is the Herbies Way Excellent II 3.7mm (285 mm daimeter) mat. Enjoy the tables you lucky dawg!

Since I only paid $30 for them I am thinking about taking one and doing a DIY record cleaner. I can build a cabnet, pickup tubes and anything else here at the shop. By taking the tone arm out there is already a hole for the vacuum tube on the bottom of the table. sell the other table and I am really out nothing in giving this a shot, if it don't work put this table back together and sell it.

Ok done thinking about it I will just do it.

Holy crap. You stole those. I know some folks that would pay $300-$400 each.

    Blue LED? Really? Modded, methinks.

If you're going to build one bro. Look into using the VPI parts for the vacuum assembly.

Mike could you take a close up pic of the pickup tube for me?

    Thanks.

I second that. They're your tables and you can do what you want with them, but the 1200 is just too nice and well built of a table to use as a record cleaning machine. I've got an old Technics 220 that I'll trade for one of your 1200s if you need something to make a record cleaning machine with. If you don't want to do that, find a cheap inferior table local to use for a record cleaning machine. Do the 1200s some justice and either enjoy them for music, have as backup or backup parts for your 1210, or sell or trade them to someone who really wants to use them for what they where intended for, playing music. There are people out there that would be really, really happy to have one of these in their system. Just my dos centavos.

Now this is CP at it's finest. That's one helluva nice gesture Larry and the table couldn't be going to a better person. Ben when you get that, I'll see what I got laying around spare for the 1200 and get that to you. I have an old dust cover, but it's cracked, the old headshell, and some other stuff. I'll see what I can round up for it and send it your way. I'm gald to see a happy ending. The thought of that 1200 getting butchered up (not that I have any doubt that you wouldn't have done some great work Larry) and not playing music was making me sick.
