I bought one of these to work on some vintage componants, the Co. I purchased this from said I ordered 2, but they only charged me for 1. Soooooo...If anybody is interested an "in" will do it. I believe this retails for about $50, its just like the one in the pic minus the pouch.

Heck yes, count me in. I use a cheap wrist band, but a full ESD pad would be much safer.

    NOT in...awesome karma.

Almost killed someone with one of those wristbands many moons ago , we had to wear/use one as a tech working on equipment that had product ( Wafers all the way to finished IC's ...one discharge and you could take out hundreds of thousands of dollars in product...even worse...you could wound product and it would fail after the customer received it.) in it...if seen not plugged in you were written up on the spot.

So we all put them on before shift and didnt take them off till end of shift...well at lunchtime I went to the video store ( Still VHS...many moons ago remember :) ) and the Korean lady behind the counter had seen me wearing these all the time....she asked me what it was. Well between her not speaking english well at all , and my explanation...she thought when you plugged in it was protecting the wearer...not the product ...from high voltage discharges

All she asked was if she could have one....I kept spares in my glove box so I grabbed her a new package ( Wristband and lead with banana jack and alligator clip on adapter ) ...figured she wanted a fasion statement

A couple of months go by and I go into the video store and she told me the " Wristband no work " ...I was like WTF ? What she had done was send it back to her brother in Korea telling him if he wore this he would be protected from high voltages...saving him time from having to turn off live circuits to work on them...he got electrocted on the first shot...didnt die but was in the hospital for a few days.

I didnt feel bad whatsoever...if the idiot believed this new fangled thing from the states would protect him from live circuits , he shouldnt have been working with them in the first place...the only one I felt bad for was the lady.
