In which case "hoe" would be the correct term!!

If they're still available after round 2 of Snowmageddon here, think I'll see if I can take a look and listen.

    Yeah, I figured... Freudian slip!

What are the key aspects of these speakers that I can check to ensure they don't need major refurbishment? Or should I just expect them to need a certain amount?

Just see if all the drivers are working, and do the passive radiator seal test.

Push in the passive radiator, the midranges should puff out, then return to their normal position in i guess 5 seconds or so? If it's around there, you're good. If it's way shorter than that, then you may just need to mortite the drivers, which would probably be a good idea anyways. :)

A little pricey based on condition (ripple in the PR's) and the fact they are 2A's not 2B's but they do have updated tweeters. A close-up of the tweet will determine if it's truly an RD0 or possible someone stuck some sl2500's or sl3000's in there. Those will have a foam ring around the dome, RD0's do not.

Offer $150 and see what he says............you aren't getting ripped off at $200, though

Yeah, noticed that too. Exposure to heat? Sun? Or maybe just plain old age? Anybody know if there are any cures for that?

I don;t think they are 2B's the OP is looking at...........they look like 2A's to me. Best to see if a PR from a 2B will work with a 2A. The MW drivers are different so the PR's might be weighted differently.

    +1

2A's, but they look a little on the rough side. They appear to have RD0's already...

    Better pics would help.

I paid $200 for my 2A's, but they were in slightly better shape. I don't feel that I paid too much for them.

very common for the pr to have warps/bubbles in the top layer... should not affect the sound

priced a little high for SDA 2A's IMHO. get em to knock another $50 after you listen to them.. then decide. 2A is a fine speaker.

We don;t know for sure those are the wrong tweets. If they are RD0's then $150 is a decent deal. But, if it were me I'd wait but local pick up is a great advantage.
