I'm thinking of setting up a Home Theatre - 5.1 probably and I currently have a pair of SDA 1Cs.
I was wondering is a pair of SDA CRS's would work for rear surrounds, and if so what would be a good candidate for a center speaker??? A monitor 5 jr?
Thanks,
Wayne

I've heard of people using CRS' as rears with really good results. They would match really well with your 1C's. As for the center, do you need it to lay on its side, or will you have it standing up? I'd say another CRS, as I don't think the Monitor 5jr will stand up to the rest of your rig.

I've used the CRS+ as surrounds with great results...replaced them with 2Bs since I didn't own the smaller guys...2Bs offer more bottom which is fun, but there's really not that much difference as surrounds. As far as a center, a CRS with a modified crossover to activate the dimensional driver, if you have the space would be just about perfect. I don't have the and am using a CS400i, which is more than close enough for horseshoes.

I used my 2A's with great results in my HT. I even messed around a little bit with my Peerless Monitor 7A's as surrounds...but the tweeters didn't mesh well. I also tried using one of my 7's as a center for a while with the SDA's, but the tweeters were just too different.
I'd imagine some RD0 equipped Monitor 7's would mesh very well with RD0 equipped SDA's though.
Do you need your center channel to lay horizontally, like a standard center channel, or is placing it vertically alright?
You wouldn't want to take a Monitor 7, for instance, and lay it on it's side for center channel duty. The nirvana inducer-

That is a great idea! What has to be done in the crossover to make that happen? -
I use 2Bs as fronts and CS350s as centers. The combination results in a seemless and fabulous front sounstage.
The recently included surrounds are Monitor 50s. While helpful and good sounding, they are ultimately destined to swappped out.The 2Bs and CS350s are going to staying where they are for some time to come!
