Monitor 70
Is it me or am I the only one that saw the black version of the Monitor 70's for 179e last week at Newegg for about a day. What happened.

It happens, they do 24hr sales all the time. I never got an E-mail about it, so if it was there it wasn't very well advertised. Hope you got some, they are, IMHO one of their best new speakers for the money.

I saw it too. I thought it was a mistake or an unadvertised special.

i was ready to purchase at $229 on tuesday, but hesitated. when i looked at my cart on wednesday, i saw the price drop to $179 and purchased immediately. my wife just called to let me know that they were just delivered to boot! i'm very excited to set them up.

Wow, you scored! Monitor 70's were my first speaker. You're in for a nice treat. -
Congratulations....you'll like them. Especially at that price. I didn't get mine from newegg but also got a great price with a discount card on them...

Awesome snag, they are getting harder and harder to find these days, esp. at that price. About a month or so ago they went on sale almost every week, this is the first one I have heard of in awhile. I just got an E-mail from Newegg about the best selling speakers on their site, the Monitor 70's were on the top of the list (black and cherry) and the PSW10 was right behind them, GO POLK!! As stated above, you are in for a treat with those 70's, I have had imne for a little over a year and I too got them for a good discount from CC before they closed their doors, and I have been nothing but pleased by their performance. IMHO, they are about the best option out there for a beginner HT for the price they can be had for.
