Hello kind of new and still learning about crossover frequency and so forth. I have polk rm20 set and just got my hands on a 2nd bic v1220 for super cheap and barely used. i want to use both subs but don't know what crossover and so forth to use. my receiver is onkyo 606. any help would be great. and also not sure if stacking both subs would be good or separating them. they are downfiring subs. thanks. also what phase to use with sub and do i adjust db on receiver for subs. what level should db be at for the speakers. thanks. i use 95% home theater

I have the same avr as you but I'm not familiar with t he rm20s but I have my crossover at 80. And I would imagine that having the subs separate would be best. I'm not sure but stacking down firing subs just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

    If I recall correctly, the RM20s have a -3Db at 100Hz.
So I would use that as the cutoff.

I would say 100hz is the best bet, or maybe even 120hz if the BICs can handle the bass that "high". You would usually want to set the sub/satellite crossovers to the same frequency. Also, it would actually be easier to set up if you stack them, otherwise, it can be a real beeotch! There are exceptions, but the general rule is to stack them if you can safely. That is best, and tends to cause less set up issues with Audyssey. There is no set proper db level. That is all up to you and what you think sounds best. As a baseline, set the sub volumes at 12 o'clock, and use the receiver to adjust after that. I hope that helps:)
