New guy looking for Advice on Front Mains, A7 A8 A9 RTI 10, 12's ?
Hi, I'm a new guy here who knows the basics about Home Audio but could use some advice from others. I'm looking to buy a pair of fronts but really can't decide and after reading multiple threads here and online and reviews, I still can't decide. Currently now I have a Pioneer VSX-919AH in 7.1. I use Polk Audio Monitor 30's for my sides and rears. I went with them because I liked the design and the size was good. I have a CSI-3 for my Center and PSW10 for the sub. I can't decide what fronts I should get. I have a good size living room with wood floors and high ceilings so echo is a problem. Currently I'm having a real hard time getting my center tweaked so speech is clear and easy to hear but that's another issue. In general i haven't been too happy with my amp but i know if i spend more time tweeking it i'll be ok. I only use the setup for watching movies and sometimes concerts..
I am looking at the RTI12's right now because they are pretty cheap but I'm afraid my amp isn't anywhere near strong enough for them. I know I like the RTI A7's but I've heard allot of people like the RTI A8's with a sub. I like to hear my bass from both channels and heard the A9's and 12's have great bass but bad mid range. I may end up changing from 7.1 to 5.1 and bi-amp the front speakers if i need to since i have yet to find any movies other than Snow White that's 7.1 and my amp for some reason sends out very little audio to the sides and rears. It's not a volume problem, it just seems to send little amount of signals to them. Another setting i haven't fixed yet.
Obviously in the end it's in the eye of the beholder but any advice from anyone is appreciated. I have to stick to a budget also.
