I'm on a jazz kick (when not listening to Sabbath...go figure) and San Diego has a premier non-commercial jazz station:

Excellent call, you beat me to it. I use Groove Shark, Pandora and LastFM. Grooveshark is availabe for mobiles as well, you just have to pay 3$ a month to get it on ur phone. I love Pandora, as it plays on my droid. If I forget my ipod, I just pull up Pandora on the droid and let it run through my car stereo. Not perfect sound by any means, but not bad for free2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

Pandora/Last.fm on my Android smartphone/iPhone.
Although both are only for casual listening/idle, as not terribly high quality streams (then again, this is on custom monitors)
