Posted this on another forum but would like to hear what everyone here thinks. Have a Dynaco 410 that was blowing speaker fuses alot, couldnt tell if it was the problem or my old C-J PV-3, so had borrowed an old kenwood amp and pre and was going to swap each out and see what happened...
well, got the other amp and preamp in the garage. decided to try one more time with dynaco...fired up cd player, fired up preamp, fired up the dynaco---thump...and then that wonderfull white smoke that smells so good
Aaacckkk! I didn't know I could move that fast to turn off a switch!
Back to where I bought the Dynaco and find something else...they have a SAE 2200, ATI 1502, Audire Crescendo, B&K St-1400II, Carver M-1.4 and 400x, Hafler DH-200, Harman Kardon 87 and Yamaha M-50.
any thoughts would be appreciated!

I thought you just got a new tube amp?Political Correctness'.........defined

I hope the Dyno was under 'warranty'...
I do have the B&K ST-1400SII and I think it is a decent amp. I actually would have bought that one (Assuming you are talkin about Hxxx's) but I would not pay over $250
The Carver M1.5 and A400 are both pretty well regarded.
IF it's not a warranty exchange, and depending budget, this looks promising, but I have not researched it: http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/ele/1589074175.html
I am sure someone would know more about it.
Have you checked at 'Tuna's'? -
