Restored Magneplanar MGII speakers

This is probably mostly a feeler, again because I am in Canada and there aren't many local Polkies around. I will be posting these on local audio forums in a week when I'll come back from the business trip...
My fully rebuilt Magnepan Magneplanar MGII (MG II, MG-II) speakers.
What I have done less than a year ago to them:
- installed new tweeters with the kit from Magnepan
- replaced crossover capacitors with new Solen caps (fully burned in by now)
- stripped and refinished the frame in dark mahogany
- got new socks made from black audio transparent cloth
- refinished stands in semi-gloss black
Why am I selling these? Only to get Magneplanar 2.5/R, 3.3/R or 3.6/R for another project.
Price: $500 CDN . Will come with a copy of user manual, courtesy of Magnepan.
I did not replace original terminals with bananas, as I don't like how the 5-way terminals would stick out. I can include pre-terminated 10-foot cables with mini-spades on them with the speakers. I also should still have original beige socks in very good condition, if needed.
Here are some of the photos. These speakers are currently connected to my system for demo. Dual 1228 TT with Cambridge Audio 640P phono and California Audio Labs CL-10 CD sources, Carver C-1 preamp, Dynaco ST-70 or Carver TFM-24 amp, Velodyne ULD-15 sub.
Specs for MG-II:
* 2-Way Full-Range Planar-Magnetic
* Frequency response: 50Hz-16kHz ±4dB
* Crossover: 6dB/octave @ 2.4kHz
* Rec power: 40-200Wrms @8Ohm
* Sensitivity: 85dB/1½W/m @1kHz
* Impedance: 6 Ohm
* Dimensions: 22" × 71" × 2", 35#/ea

You didn't mention, so I'll ask - local pickup only, or are you willing to ship, and if so, do you have original or other suitable boxes for shipping?
Separately, how do they sound with the Dynaco as opposed to the Carver? Does the ST-70 have enough power to drive them well? -

Well, I'll be in California for most of the next week, but I don't think that these would count as carry-on baggage.
Unfortunately, I do not have original shipping crates, thus yes, local pick up only. These are fairly compact. When I originally got them, I moved them in my car (rear seat open, stands off).
I prefer to listen to these on the ST-70 rather than on Carver. Not sure why people say that these speakers need tons of power. ST-70 drives them more than adequately, I get the full open stage and the sound is much warmer with tubes than with transistors. Oh yeah, regarding Carver sound... I was originally afraid of breaking the panels with so much power, but I never get the volume dial over 10 o'clock with Carver with them, and they already sing.
P.S. Thank you for the nice comments on these Maggies! I spent months working on them (on and off).Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

I like your old 2.0 and I just got a pr. of 2.5's. they look to be about the same size. Is there that much of a difference for upgrading or whatever because like others said, yours looked great. Great set for the next guy for sure!!
I'm loving my new purchase but when I added a JBL 12'" downfireing sub, Nervana was heard betweeen them. I toed mine out with the tweeters on the inside and they're about 8' apart to centers. 2 ft. from the back wall per Nooshinjohns recomendation. They put out life-like sound to me.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Tony, I sold that pair and picked up 2 other pairs of MGII
. One needs a rebuild, so I'll be ordering a kit for it next week (finally can be shipped with the warm weather).
2.5R should give you much crisper highs, because it uses dedicated ribbon for highs. I wish I had a coin for 2.5R or 3.3R.
Btw, the DIY sub in the middle uses a JBL driver from S120PII Studio 500-Watt sub. Kick-@ss sub.. gone too in favour of another DIY and Velo ULD-15.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies
