Polk Audio RTi A9 with Sansui AU-7900

Hi,

I'm new to the forum (and Polk Audio speakers in general).

I'm looking for a new couple of speakers for a stereo setup with my Sansui AU-7900 amp (2x75 watts RMS on 8 ohm). I've been looking at the RTi A9 (mostly because the RTi A7 & A9 are about the only Polks available here in Sweden).

Any ideas if the Sansui would be able to handle these speakers? How are the RTi A9 in the bass department? I listen mostly to metal and like to "feel" the low bass punch, if you know what i mean. (Although, not boomy sloppy bass - cheap party speaker style).

I'm in love with the sound of vintage Sansui amps, so it would be a shame to have to buy a new amp.

    I love Sansui, when I first got my A9s i ran them off my G7500 (90wpc).... very detailed, warm sounding just what Sansui's are known for. Unfortunately, i felt 90wpc wasn't enough for my A9's. I really depends on what you listen to...I listen to classical contemporary, but I also listen to Soul/RnB/Socca/Reggae and when i play them loud the A9s need alot of headroom to play. Classical and contemporary music you will be very happy with the Sansui and the power you have. My G7500 and Polks are wonderful with this type of music. I needed more so i got me the Emotiva XPA-2.

    The A9's go low in the bass dept, no problems there providing you have the power and headroom. If you plan on getting the A9's i suggest a bigger amp or reciever..you can go with a Sansui G9000 or bigger. Otherwise get the A7's, they would be better suited with your AU-7900...good luck!

    I'm now a proud owner of a couple of RTi A9. And they actually sound great with my AU-7900. Doesn't sound underpowered at all! With the volume knob at 25% only, i'm already nailed to the couch with big grin ;) Won't take much more from there to have the neighbours knocking on my door :p

    welcome to CP Geten. wow, nice 7900, I used to have 5900 in 1977-80
