Has anyone had any experience with re- wiring their polk speaker's? I'm having my RT800i's re-finished, and I thought, since they'll be taken apart, I might as well get them re-wired with a better grade of cable. I see alot of speakers that are internally wired with monster Z series and HP series. I know I like the sound of the Z1 series cable better then the Z2 or Z3, or I might go with something from audioquest since that's what I'll be switching my front speakers to. What are some other tweek's I can do to the speakers that will let me get the most performance out of them. All the work will be done professionally at my local audio repair shop. Any input will be appreciated.

It can't hurt but here is the thing, if you do it yourself it will sound better! There are a lot of choices in wiring out there. Check out Kimbercable and Cardas also. I've heard of people upgrading the capacitors in the crossovers and also the binding posts.

Thanks for the reply madmax, I didn't even think of upgrading the crossovers, Were's a good place to start looking for crossovers?
This will be the first time ever going inside of speakers, so I have no idea what I'll be looking at. Thats why I'm having my audio shop do it. I give him alot of business, so he doesn't charge much.
At least half of the work he does for me, he does for free because I supply the parts. Kimber cable might be doable, but Cardas is out of my price range, just ask my wife.

I recently rewired my Maggies and replaced the caps and inductor in the xovers. I got my parts from Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) , also check out Madisound Speaker Parts (www.madisound.com) and Parts Connexion (www.partsconnexion.com).
