I just wanted to share this with you guys.
I am a long time member over at the Kramer Forum (Kramer guitars that is). Another long time member there was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis a few years back. This is the same disease that killed Berny Mack recently. Well Tom had been in remission for a while and then things got worse. He now has to have a kidney removed. But overall is doing much better now than he has been in a while.
Tom ownes his own business, so his insurance wasn't that great. He has since, to help cover medical bills, sold off an extensive guitar and amp collection. His beloved Corvette that he rebuilt, sold his house and no telling what else...
Well a few days ago someone else on the forum found out that he had to sell so much stuff and was really hurting financially. He started a donation thread to help Tom out. And in the last 24 hours around $2k has been donated for the cause!
Tom is a great dude that I have bought/sold/traded gear with for a few years now. My donation to him is going to be one of my rack amps that he has wanted.
And to top it off. Gibson, who now owns the Kramer brand name and started remaking their guitars a few years back. Heard about this. And has donated a guitar to be raffled off at the forum for this cause. This guitar is probably valued I would guess around $1500 or better.
So seeing dudes that have been members on this forum just a few months donating money. And everyone coming together for a great cause really warms ones heart. Proves there still are good people and good things that happen in the world despite the current economy etc. etc.
Great thing to see people come together for the greater good of one individual! I've seen it on that forum before as well as this one and just wanted to share that.
