Have been looking at a budget tuber system for my sons.
Poor little fellers have been bitten by the 2ch bug.

Worth a shot or look for something else???

Hell, for that price, I may pick one up for Aiden. I'll just use it for a secondary rig in the meantime. The soldering looks amateur at best but that's easily corrected and the build quality looks decent enough. Looks nice but truth be told, I've never heard of them before.

Yeah, I saw that as well. The company says it is in cahoots with Yaquin, Music Angel, etc. I'm thinking knock-off, but WTF for the price.

May as well plan on swapping tubes and upgrading some of those guts right off the bat. Aesthetically it looks nice.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Without question, Mark. And like Tom said, beefing up some of the solder joints.
I do like the wood trim, ala Dodd. This could be a nice one for them to start with. Any one ever put an ear on this or other amps from them?

I wouldn't expect it to sound any different than the other 50+ brands you can dig up in that range.

That's a pretty nice looking piece of gear Russ. :)

If you purchase it, don't forget to cover it as we all know your propensity for pissing on things especially in a middle-of-the-night stupor!:D

Freddy has a preamp made by the same company. It sounds great, and looks great as well.

I'd say it's well worth the $130, and probably then some.

I don't want to jack Lightman's thread, but what would be a good starter system for tubes recommended by the tube gurus here? See the follow up thread.

I do genealogy too ... often while listening to Polks. Hillbillies or folk that descend from them are everywhere, whether you know it or not. Being called a hillbilly is almost like being a Smith (character) in the movie series the Matrix. ;)

Just like the movie, you probably do not know that you have already been assimilated! :D

As an aside, how's the snow dumping down there? My business associates tell me they gotten hammered pretty good yesterday and during the past couple of months ... mostly from storms that usually come my way. We are in a snow deficit here. You can keep these snow storms!
