Sub suggestions
Hi folks
Am in the process of completing new mancave and would appreciate any suggestions in terms of subwoofer(s). The room is 18 x 28 with m70's front and back and m40's on sides. All of this will be driven by a Pioneer vsx-1019. Oh the center is a cs2.

Look into the PSW505, it is at Newegg for $250 shipped. If you want something more musical check into the DSW/Micropro series. Budget would help too, if you want to step up the ladder check into SVS, Velodyne, Epik, etc. Welcome to Club Polk.

Assuming you have 8' celing your room is over 4000cubic feet. I suggest a SVS PB13 or the Epik Sentinel if the PB13 is out of your budget. This is all assuming you are mostly interested in a sub for HT. I do not use a sub for 2 channel and can not comment on a good 2 channels sub.
Gadabout has RTi10s with one of Polks sub and sounded very sweet for music.
Not sure what your mains are but I would upgrade the center to a CSi5 or a CSiA6 as well.
Wall treatments will make a big differnce too.

He has 70's so I would stick with the CS2, but I would + 1 on the 505 if for HT use, it can really rumble for good movies even at half volume with good placement. If you're wanting something more musical I would see what others say but for HT it is really strong with the Monitor series.Main 2ch -

TMK I have never heard the PSW505. I guess it comes down to budget and expectations. I just know preasurizing 4000+cf is not done cheaply if you want bone and furniture shaking LFE for movies.
My room is 4200CF with a 2kcf opening to the rear and right and the HSU 3 3 with 2 MBM-12s could not do it for me. The PB13 is doing the job with plenty to spare.
Gadabout has a very nice Polk sub he is running with his HT rig that impressed me but do not know which one and he has a very open room.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

How does the psw505 compare to the psw125
-
its a more powerful sub. It has a more powerfull amp 300 continuous compared to 150 for the 125 and the 505 can dig deeper.. below 30hz.. the 125 can't per Polks specs on this website.Main 2ch -

I have not chimed in on any "What sub should I buy?" question for a while. So I guess I will on this one.
Sunfire True Sub. 2700 watts, goes down to 18hz and can be had for mid $500 range if you search and wait.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t -

I have recently started to build my home audio system and need some help along the lines of gmlplatt. I have a Samsung 55 in. LED 240 Hz (UN55B8000), also have the Pioneer 1019ah-k, and just bought some monitor 70's for the fronts and running a PS3 120gb for the bluray (using HDMI cables). All of this has been bought in the last month and in fact the monitor 70s should be here monday!
I went from an older Denon that was 7.1 but had no HDMIs and had a set up with a klipsch center speaker that is a couple years old but still holds its own against others, and 4 older bookshelf speakers. I couldnt believe the difference in switching to digital audio and put sounds in these speaker that they had never put out before.
My question is what sub would best go with this. Im currently in a townhouse with noone on the side of me where we will be using all of this. I will be mainly using it for a HT and do like a good solid bass that can skake nicely. The room it will be in is around 12' by 15'...will only be there a few more months before the rent is up. I found the psw111 on sale for $135, the psw125 for $269 and then the psw505 for $229. All free shipping and no tax..any thoughts?? the psw111 seems like a great buy but dont know if it will go as low as what I want but also afraid the psw505 might tear the walls down (does it do well at lower volumes???)
Any help would be great....and yes this is my first post! Thanks!"C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS"
