    A few things.

One, I want to know how Jersey City beat out Philadelphia.

Two, you can't blame NJ. Most of the residents near the borders go out of state to get plastered and return home so the numbers for NJ are artificially low.

Three, where are the shore towns like Sleaze Side (Seaside) and Alanon (Avalon) and the Wildwoods? Or even Ocean City, the drunkest dry town in America?

    Boston the LEAST drunk? Seriously?
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

In Boston, people take a cab. This reduced the DUI events.

(Not that I think these numbers have any validity...)

I know its for fun, but this list doesn't make any sense....seems more like a list of the drunkest cities full of idiots since this is based in large part off of DUI arrests and crashes. Liver disease can certainly be caused by drinking, but its not the only cause of the disease. Binge drinking would only be based on cases reported to a hospital.
The rankings are based on 100 major U.S. cities with high death rates from liver disease, high numbers of DUI crashes and DUI arrests, and severe binge drinking.

Milwaukee being 58 is laughable (we need to be proud of something ;) ). We have more bars per captia than any other large city in the country.

Forbes' list from 2006...which even today seems infinitely more accurate.

Forbes’ Top 10 America’s Drunkest Cities

#1 Milwaukee *ranked no. 1 in both drinkers and binge drinkers
#2 Minneapolis – St. Paul *no. 3 in binge drinkers
#3 Columbus *no. 2 in heavy drinkers
#4 Boston *no. 1 in state laws
#5 Austin *no. 3 in state laws
#6 Chicago *no. 5 in both state laws and binge drinkers
#7 Cleveland *no. 2 in alcoholism
#8 Pittsburgh *no. 2 in binge drinkers
#9 Philadelphia *no. 4 in both state laws and heavy drinkers
#10 Providence *no. 2 in state law

I don't know, probably because it was a real long shot making it being that there are 50 U.S. states and this was a list of the 100 drunkest major U.S. cities.... ;)

Driving home last night, I was listening to talk radio and I could swear that they said Denver was #1 and Colorado Springs #3. Must be a different list.

We are 74th. Good thing too. I do like my beer but the recognition of being a "drunk" city is not one that I would be proud of.
