I'm working on Ubuntu computer, I also support an excel sheet with the OpenOffice. When I change something on that excel sheet, it changes the print sheet when someone prints it with the excel software. One the sheet isn't change the Office X will print this sheet ok with gray ratio, when changed its still gray but now its has lines in the sheet so it's hard to see this sheet. Many people see this sheet, and many people have either Office 2003 or Office 2007.

Anyone know what I need to do?

I wonder if I better off installing Office 2003 under wine?

That's the compatibility problem with any Office version and Open Office. It's 1-way, so installing MS Office under Wine or a VMware shell is about your only option if you're doing a intranet sharing type thingy.

Ok so it's an issue with Open Office vs. Office 2003/2007. Thanks I just tried to put an USB to Parallel cable to local printer, and changed a field then printed it. It printed fine, I going to try to put this file in a window xp office 2007 to see how it prints. If still screwed up I put Office 2003 in the Wine / Ubuntu.

As long as you don't make any changes to the doc ( I think. Could be just opening it perverts some of the VB code) you can view it with Open Office- but what good is that?

Yes what good is that, if you support it ;)

I installed the office 2003 with wine, I laughed when it stop a little to redo the register files. I thought it was going to kill the software installing, but it works now I can change a field and it's ok with window office software printing.

Ubuntu is working ok with me now, still learning stuff but it works. :)

Well, apparently a week ago, which was a week after this thread, Open Office issued an updated version that supposedly has full compatibility with MS Office 2007.

    Open Office 3.2 Review

No Affil: I have not played with any of it to see if it breaks, or where.
