easy little tweak for dsw

I was flipping through the manual for my dsw 600 and was reading about the carpet spikes. polk recommends for carpet to slide the feet off of the mounting rods which also serves as carpet spikes. I always thought that the woofer was already too close to the carpet as it is and by removing the feet would put the woofer IN the carpet. so I did the opposite and put the little foot extensions on the feet. they are more tapered than the feet themselves and sort of function as big fat carpet spikes. this also gave the woofer almost another inch of clearence from the carpet. to my suprise the bass sounds much more defined and less muffled - much better than it did without the foot extensions. its amazing what a little 2 minute tweak can do for the ears

I never thought about trying that......I'll let you know if it makes a difference with a wood floor.
