What are the benefits of speakers within the same series?
Can someone please tell me what the benefits are of staying within the same series?
I have the RTi10's as my front speakers and everyone has told me to try and get the CSi5 as my centre channel and if not then the CSi6.
I have recently been offerd a pretty good price on the LSiC but was hesitant to buy it because due to it being from a different series.
Can someone please tell me the advantages and disadvantages of switching between series? Thanks,

Do not switch to the Lsi series unless you get Lsi mains for it. They are 4 ohm speakers. Go with the CSi6 and enjoy your HT. I have the Lsi series and you will need external amps to run them properly. You will be getting into big money. To me it was worth it but for the casual listener it may prove to be needless expense.Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

The tonal qualities (timbre) are different from series to series.
And, the RTi series are 8 ohm and the LSi series are 4 ohm speakers.
I would keep at least your front soundstage within a series, most say the rears are not as important and I have mixed those in the past with acceptable results. -

For the front 3 to be "timbre" matched tweeters "should" match, surrounds are not AS important. If you ask Polk CS, they will tell you as they have told me that MOST of their HT speaker lines are designed to be used together.Polk Audio Surround Bar 360

Awesome thanks for the feedback. I never understood why some people were so into home theatres. I just wanted something that sounds great. But this all makes sense. I will definitely stick to the RTi series. I was also planning on Rti speakers anyhow for the rears anyhow.

I don't think there is such thing as CSi6. There is CSi5 and CSiA6. For your towers, CSi5 would be a matching center.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

That's what I am talking about. I see som many people on here type the letters sometimes and then don't type them other tiems so I jsut went with CSi6.
Yes I would prefer to go with the CSi5 over the A6 but the main issue is that they don't make the CSi5 anymore and it is harder to find so I might have to settle with the A6. -

That would work. -
It depends how well the speakers are sonically/timbre matched.
Talking about CSi5 - somebody just posted one in the FM, CHEAP:

From what I have heard from others on here the A4 and the A6 series replaced the old RTi. So I would assme that they match up pretty decently.
