I don't know what it is, but I can never get jazzed over McIntosh.....I'm not bashing them as I have almost no experience with them....but I just can't get excited about thier gear.

I am sure he is a smart man and did'nt spend to much on cables to run that system, you know just some run of the mill power cords/some speaker wire off the spool from the local Home Depot and some IC's from Ace Hardware.

Cause we have all learned there is no "DIFFERENCE" in performance with expensive cables.

Oh I almost forgot he really wasted his money on all of it anyways he could have saved a ton of money for the same quality of sound with the "HIGH END" Emotiva line..

    End of Sarcasm,

    Peace to all.

Funny. I feel the same thing. I have NEVER heard any McIntosh gear, but they are never in my list or dreams. I think it's because I hate the looks.

I myself love the look of it. If you could tone the lights down when needed or wanted would be a nice.

See, I'd be all over that but...he only has one and I want two, in case one breaks. Oh well, the search continues!

Funny how taste range. I absolutely love the looks of McIntosh stuff-maybe it reminds me of an old classic car. If you haven't heard some of their stuff you should sometime-it is truly remarkable with the right speakers (not macs). I heard some with the top of the line B&W's and it was the lowest noise floor I have EVER heard-dynamics were awesome. I called the bank and they said "uh, NO". If McIntosh had free financing I think they would sell a lot more stuff.

Beautiful deco for Xmas time but Emo stuff is only a fraction of the cost and they have the same lighting effects. +1 for Emo folks. Think blue lights.

Unfortunately, the only time I've heard any McIntosh gear it should've been wonderful, but it wasn't. It was some nice old tube gear driving homemade speakers that I'd say were along the lines of Cerwin Vega stuff.

He was proud of it's bass whomp.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

I've heard a duplicate of this system. Frankly, I don't care for McIntosh speakers at all. They seemed very sterile and non involving. Wow, can I say that being a Mac fan-boy?

I guess at this point I'm supposed to get angry at the folks who don't like McIntosh, right? Sorry, not going to happen today:D You can turn off all the lights if one desires it. I've never turned mine off, I paid for the lights and want to see them!

For someone who had spent $190K on a system you would think the seller would have been around Agon more, and have more than 3 feedbacks.

    just sayin'
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

That's a great budget minded way to get into 2 channel on the cheap.

    I'm tempted to buy it.
