How George Daniel and I spent our afternoon...TUBES BABY TUBES

Well yesterday was a good day. While riding down the road I asked my fiance to go into the thrift store.
As soon as we walked in I spotted an old organ. I asked her if she wanted to learn to play it. She said "NO", and walked away.
She soon came to find me and I was still at the organ. At that point I said I am buying it. I looked around to make sure no one else was
wanting my new find, and promptly went to the counter to purchase it. The guy at the counter said he was not sure if it worked
so he did not charge me the ridiculous asking price of $40.00. Instead he charged me a cool $30.00. My fiance still thinking I have lost my
mind I called George D. left him a message " Hey I just bought an organ " he soon called back and said I will be over shortly.
He of course knew the importance of this find. LOL We unloaded it and began to rip it apart. George and I looked at each other and grinned.:D
There it was, a shining sea of tubes. We started laying them out on the hot tub/work bench.
6sn7's no doubt. In all we pulled almost 50 tubes out of it.George says the look to be mostly late 40's to early 50's. Most are 6sn7's and a couple of 6L6's.

Well I had thought of pulling the transformers out. Should we keep them all?

I've raided dozens of old consoles for tubes but usually keep those tips on the down low....oh well.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Have fun with them, that's what its all about right. I would not call it a loan. I would call it. Keep em as long as you need em or want them. I hope they sound good for you.:)

I don't know if it was a gain thing or what, but most old organs are loaded with 12AU7 or 6SL7/6SN7 like the one here. Never seen one with 12AX7's, now old consoles, that's a different story. You have a ton of them for all the frequency dividers, divider drivers, oscillators, and pedal functions. The amp is usually a mono push-pull 6L6.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I was talking about yours too. It's a toss between the stock ones and the customs. I am loving these since I did the grounded grid Pre amp.
