I'm looking to do a mod on my JBL's and am looking for suggestions with caps. I'm still debating if I should go with Sonicaps or spend the extra $ and go with something better for the highs.

2x .01uF
1x 3uF
1x 8uF

Will be going with Mills resistors

2x 8ohm

I will be using my 545 to power them and will be looking to add a nice pre to the mix.

Suggestions for caps and/or pre's?

Look up Parts Express. Many cap options available by Auri, Sonic, Solen and others.

Adcom preamps are not so good, except maybe the 750. Look to NAD, Rotel, and Emotiva among the better SS budget pre's, but you can do better. The Dynaco Pas3 is a very nice vintage tube pre, but the vintage Conrad Johnson tube pre's are better.
