The 1000s already have spikes in them. Take the rubber surround of and the spikes are exposed. Not sure about the 2000's.

The fellow I purchased them from had already removed them. I had a hell of a time getting them out of the box without the need for stiches.;):D -

Move the speakers into place then remove the rubber feet. If you need to move or adjust them then you have to learn the speaker waltz.
Spiked speakers on carpet sounds leaps and bounds better than just setting them on the carpet. -

My RT2000's are now spiked !!! I never thought the rubberpart just slides off. I had RT1000p's for 10 years and didn't think about it...
