Best DIY sub kit

I'm lookin' at getting a DIY sub kit to replace my Velo DLS-3750r and wondering which one is the better buy

Right now i'm about 80%/20% (HT/music) but i'm listening to more & more music everyday so something that is "musical" while thumping out some good Hz for HT is what i'm lookin' for :o

So far i've been looking at these kit's but can't decide so please share your comment's and help me make an informed buy! If ya know of something else that i haven't listed please share :)

I am leaning more towards a kit that includes a box as i don't have access to a woodshop ATM and paying someone to make a box would kind of negate the saving's of a "DIY" kit IMHO.

In short: good SQ, good SPL, good response and a decent sized enclosure :o

Cheer's!

Anyone in particular? I'd like to hit some good SPL's while maintaining SQ

I've been looking more so at the 15" titanic and the eD 13.2 dual

The eD and the Rythmik have had my interest for some time. But never heard ether so can't offer much. What's your room size and what speakers will you be integrating with it?

Still try listening and less talking. The 15" Titanic can give you motion sickness. I have two of them. You'll **** yourself, and they are very affordable.

Rythmik DS15 with the PEQ amp in a 3cu/ft PE enclosure.

If you weren't oppose to building a box yourself I would highly reccomend the Tuba HT design by Bill Fitzmaurice(sp?). It's a little on the big side but it's the most musical/hard hitting sub I've ever experienced...and because it's such an efficent design

I've heard the Rythmik 12" kit...very nice sounding sealed servo design so I'm sure the 15 is stellar. I didn't look at the others, but the ED kit based on the A7-650 has gotten my attention for a very high output, great soundng sub design. Those that have it rave.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Another vote for the Dayton Titanics. I wouldn't really call it DIY, per se, but the 15s ROCK the house.

I heard an HT setup with 5 Klipsch Cornwalls and two 15" Titanics, and i literally had to ****.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I think you should specify if this is for home theatre or music....different objectives.

You may also want to include one of Danny Ritchie's designs and DIYCable products on your short list as well.

    Good luck,

    He did.;)

Another good option would be one of these:

    With a pair of these:

In one of these (note: I don't know if they are actually available for sale yet, might want to call AE)

Has anyone listened to both the big 15'' from Dayten and one of the 13-ultra's from SVS?
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.
