    Y-cable.

    1 female to 2 males.

    Isn't that Y cable 1 male to 2 females?

I have a question on this. My sub has speaker binding posts for Left and Right speakers to pass through it. The manual says this is for cases where the receiver doesn't have RCA sub out. Concerning purchasing another sub:

    1. Is it possible to run the Left channel through Sub1 and Right Channel through Sub2 and set the Fronts to Large? Basically making each Sub and Bookshelf work as a Tower.

    2. Would there be any benefit to doing this over using the RCA Splitter?

I assume the crossover setting on the sub will split the signal between the sub and bookshelf. Also assuming the receiver will send all the bass info to the Front speakers set to Large since the Sub out is not being used and all other speakers are set to small. So I got a lot of assumptions going on, and that usually not good. Thanks for any replies, this is just something I was curious about.

    1. Yes that is very possible.

    2. Don't think there are real benefits. I have always heard using the RCA connections sounds better. Although I have never personally tested the two. I have my sub running from the sub out, to a Y cable then L/R into the sub.
