I was just wondering, i have a sony dvp-s570d dvd player, my question is a while back I read somewhere that this player was able to play a multichannel disc, I was playing around with it yesterday and I accidentally turned on a never before seen multichannel light on the front of the dvd. Is this something good or what? The back of the dvd player has a 5.1 out section with all of the outs for 5.1. Again anybody have any experience with this unit and if yes what is this multichannel all about, any help would be appreciated.

Hows it going - checked out your dvd player. It has built in DD decoder incase your reciever does not.
    **Built-in Decoder**
Some DVD players have a built-in Dolby Digital decoder (sometimes with a DTS decoder included), which lets you connect the DVD player to a receiver with 5.1 preamp inputs.

That is why it has the preouts. Not sure how it all comes together since all my recievers have DD/DTS.

    Your DVD player and specs
