Hey Russ is this a good deal - I can't find any info on the net about this player and very little about BSR - just some vintage stuff. Are they out of bussiness and is it good equipment?

I want that player!!!! Unfortunately, my dad holds the eBay account password, and he's out for the night. If it's still on there when he gets home, it's MINE. Gotta replace my 1980's vintage Sharp CD player that only works 25% of the time.

This would be a GREAT question for Mr. Grand to answer. I have actually heard this cd player, but don't know a WHOLE lot about the BSR/ADC history. You are correct, they are no longer in business. Good vintage gear though.

I own an ADC 16/2r from 1986 (paid $26 shipped for it), and I can't tell you which sounds better, it, or my $249 closeout AMC CD8b.

Looks like BSR mainly was a turntable manuf.

BSR made their name with turntables, but the name showed up on various products near the end of the name's life. I know the huge console I grew up with had a BSR changer in it. I remember in the 80s BSR equalizers, especially, and they always seemed to be for sale in DAK. There was usually an ADC badged twin that sold at 'more reputable' audio dealers. I think the name changed hands quite a little there at the end, sort of like the Recoton family of brand names.

dbx got in the mix at some point as well. They made the ADC line of EQ's in the late 70's and 80's.

Anyone know what BSR and ADC stand for?

Nadams, got any follow up on this one? Did it arrive? Does it work? Does it sound good to you?

    Cheers,
