home audio setup. Will receiver work
HI, I am new to the forum and have a couple of questions about my new purchace. I would be concidered a beginner....to say the least. I have just bought a pair of Tsi 100's for my right and left speakers, the csi3 for my center and the psw10. I am sure that I probably will get a little greif for the difference in quality but the tsi100 was all i could afford right now and might become my rear surround when i upgrade to floorstanding ones. My main question is I have a jvc rx-7030v, will this power my speakers without causing any dammage. After a little research I found that it is more harmfull to speakers to have them under powered than over. I was wondering if I could cause any dammage to the speakers running them off of this reciver. Also any tips on setting up the settings on the receiver and sub would be great. Any help would be awesome.

until you upgrade to a bigger floorstanding speaker that receiver will work great. As long as there is no interference running through your receiver your speakers should not be damaged in any way unless you turn it up to distortion levels.

Jaritta,

Being a newbie to HT can be a bit of a daze - so much to learn.
One thing you should be aware given the components you've selected is that the JVC AVR has an LFE output for a subwoofer, but the PSW10 you selected does not have an LFE input!
You would have to send back the sub for a different one in the Polk product line that has the LFE input, or keep your PSW10, but you'll have to wire it up via speaker level connections.
This means you'll have to run speaker wires from the back of your AVR from the Front Left and Right outputs to your subwoofer first - and then connect in another set of speaker wires from the sub to your Front and Left speakers.
And since, for now, you've only got a 3.1 setup (no back speakers, right?) - the JVC should be fine for powering your fronts and center - as long as you don't go 'stupid loud'

I could be wrong, but the psw10 lit. says that you can basically make an lfe by Ying the right and left rca's to the single rca from the Sub out. Is this right, will it hurt my sub if i do this. This is how i currently have it set up and It seems to work great; but again, i am a bit of a noob. How should i set the controls on the back of my sub with this setup?Harman kardon signature 2.1 amp

You are correct. Use a Y to single RCA adapter to the two RCA inputs:

Good point - that should work - may have to play with the sub level on the PSW10.
But be sure to turn up the Low Pass control on the PSW10 all the way CW so as to not have a double pass filter effect from both the AVR and the PSW10.
Enjoy the sonic goodness!
